So it's my day off, and I'm running late to meet my walking partner to go mallwalking, I'm just about to get dressed when there is a pounding at my door. I immediately throw on the closest pair of pants I can find and rush to the door, and it's maintenance. They've come to get the window that they replaced and left the original on my back deck (I've had a window leaning on my deck- first the new and then the old one) since early September (even before I went to Ireland). So I said fine, there it is. The took the window and left, and I wanted to check and make sure the cat didn't walk out with them (I didn't see her- but she can be very sneaky when she wants to- and although she usually just pokes her little nose out the door and then comes back in- there's always a first time). So I look around the apartment. And don't find her! I look under the furniture in the living room, I look in all of the closets, I start looking under the furniture in the bedroom (calling all the time mind you, and even whistling now and again). And I don't find her. I'm rushing to put on socks and sneakers to look outside for her... And I find her sitting calmly and peacefully on the floor in the corner next to the love seat in my bedroom. She looks up at me with this totally indifferent expression as if to say, you called? So that was my morning. How was yours?

P.S. The cat is fine. I didn't strangle her, despite how tempted I might have been.
P.P.S. We even managed three laps this morning, and I'm walking again this evening. Which will make up for going out to dinner, something I'm going to suggest to my evening walking partner.
P.P.S. I need suggestions!!! I've signed up for my day jobs Relay for Life team again this year, and need suggestions for ways to raise money. I thought about asking some of the writers in the blogging community to donate books that we could raffle off at the Relay (some of the teams bring some really cool things to raffle off- and this would fit with our team and our motto) but I'm a little leary of just writing and asking. So what do you think? Is this a good idea? Any other suggestions? I have to confess, if it's something crafty, I can't do it. I'm too much a perfectionist and not skilled enough to do most craft things, with the sole exception of cross stitch (which takes more time than I currently have).
That's all for now, have a happy weekend. Stay warm.
